Seerah is defined as the life or way the Prophet (PBUH) lived, a collection of narrations about the people and events surrounding the Prophet (PBUH) arranged in a chronological order.
The biography of a person is called Seerah. The word ‘Seerah’ comes from a verb that means ‘to travel’. The biography of a person is called Seerah because when we read it, we are essentially traveling the person’s journey. So, when we study the life and times of the Prophet it is as if we are following in his footsteps; it is as if we are traveling in his journey.
